Due to Sony SuperHAD CCD and DSP HQ1 digital processor, STC-3002 delivers high-quality color images with 540 TVL resolution. Easy “Day/Night” function allows camera to operate in different light conditions at up to 0.08 lux of minimum illumination. In addition, color CCTV camera utilizes automatic electronic shutter and auto white balance.

STC-3002 is available in two modifications that differ by the type and value of the voltage: STC-3002/0 color CCTV camera operates using 220 VAC while STC-3002/3 – 12 V DC or 24 V AC. For outdoor CCTV system it is recommended to use STC-3002/0 for its operation with 220 V power supply if the camera is supplied with thermal housing.

Configuration of the video camera is carried by DIP-switches located on the rear panel of the camera. Installer can configure automatic gain control, flickerless/backlight compensation, electronic shutter operation, and external synchronization. In addition, a new color CCTV camera is equipped with C/CS mount and is compatible with lenses with auto iris controlled by DC or video signal.

If the camera operates on the object with fluorescent lamps, the frequency of light source flicker can coincide with the electronic shutter speed. In this case, color image from the camera starts to flicker. Unlike many analogues STC-3002 color CCTV camera can prevent this effect with the help of DIP-switches allowing installer to select flickerless compensation mode.

It is necessary to synchronize all the cameras on a single core camera when using multiple STC-3002 in CCTV system. STC-3002 color CCTV camera utilizes method of synchronization based on power supply frequency (Line Lock) that allows installer to carry out automatic synchronization of color cameras connected to one phase.

New Smartec STС-3002 color CCTV cameras are offered from stock by Smartec dealers. For more information about STС-3002 and other Smartec equipment, please, send your request to info@smartec-security.eu or contact your Smartec dealers directly.

Video analytics software is becoming increasingly popular among retail outlets. The software that is on offer here greatly improves the quality of video surveillance footage, and this in turn can mean a safer working and living environment, improved customer service, a streamlined workplace and an overall more positive experience for customers and staff. With the incredible malleability of this software, solutions can be made for an infinite amount of specific situations.

Using software programs to manage footage has grown increasingly common in the last few decades. This is a highly effective method, as this footage can be analysed instantly using these programs. Certain objects or types of motion can be identified and recognized. People can be noticed and understood as being separate from other parts of the image, and technology has recently been developed that allows facial recognition. What this means is that you’ll have a highly powerful force for recognizing suspicious activity and individuals, all done automatically by the computer.

This software can, when being activated by suspicious activity, alert security personnel in a number of ways. It can set off alarms, send emails and text messages. This will clearly improve the efficiency of your security system, and when it comes to keeping your property secure, time is of the essence.

Remote access is one of the major advantages of video analytics software. Plenty of these systems work simply through your web browser, which means you’ll be able to access them and watch previous footage in the same way you would download and view videos off of Youtube or a similar website. The difference, of course, is that your footage will be completely encrypted and secure, viewable only by authorized staff.

If you’re running a convenience store, you probably already have some type of security system already installed. If you’re looking to upgrade, it would be worth considering moving to a software-based system. As convenience stores have a high volume of customers, many small items that can be easily stolen and easy access to items, there are a great many number of threats criminals can take advantage of. By using video analytics software, it can become much easier to target individuals out of the crowd, and be clued in to suspicious activity unnoticeable by the naked eye.

If you’re in a grocery store, you’ve probably had a large amount of products go through your system without being paid for, either with nefarious or innocent intentions. With video analytics, you can specifically program the software to know when goods are out of place, when suspicious activity and possible theft is going on, and when items have gone missing from the store.

Video analytics software is especially useful in preventing fraud at quick service and fast food restaurants. If you notice a questionable transaction taking place, this can be cross-checked with video footage to see if a mistake occurred and who was at fault.

Overall, video analytics software is something all store owners who are serious about protecting their property must consider. The costs can be far less that one would pay for a standard set-up, and the benefits to customer and staff safety are considerable.

Video Analytics software offers many benefits to retail operators.

With security being a topic on most peoples’ minds, many wonder what the best way is to monitor their home and belongings. Various security systems exist and using a combined home security system with surveillance cameras can add extra protection against intruders.

IP Network Camera Placement

Choosing the location to install your IP surveillance cameras should be researched and tested. The location should have a broad viewing angle of the area you are looking to monitor. If multiple IP cameras are required to view the whole room, be sure to place them where they don’t overlap, however, to catch every aspect of the room.

Lighting is also a concern. The room should have sufficient lighting allowing the IP camera to have a clear vision of what is happening and who is intruding. When purchasing an IP camera for low lit rooms, be sure to check the lux rating. The lower the lux rating of the IP camera, the better picture it will give in low light. If the room is completely dark, purchasing an infrared (IR) sensitive IP camera would be wise as these can work in zero lighting conditions.

Wireless Connectivity

One of the main benefits of IP network cameras, is the ability to have a wireless connection to your home network. Considering wireless networks are very popular nowadays as many people use laptops, it will be easy to also install your wireless IP camera to your existing network. This will also limit the amount of wires running to the camera as it will only require a power cable.

Remote Viewing

Using IP cameras for home security offers the ability to view the cameras remotely from any location using a standard web browser. By configuring your home network to allow remote access to the IP cameras, you can login securely to each camera to view live video and access PTZ (pan/tilt/zoom) controls if supported by your camera. This gives you peace of mind knowing everything is safe back home.

Most IP cameras also support motion detection with alerts via email, SMS text messaging or other means. Having this configured on your camera, will give you the added bonus of being alerted when motion is detected. You can then login to the cameras remotely to view what is happening.

Remote Recording

With traditional CCTV (Closed Circuit Television Cameras), video recordings would be taped to a local VCR or DVR (Digital Video Recorder). If the intruder wanted to find the video recording, it would be possible for him to destroy any video evidence if it was located on the premises. Remote recording is possible for IP cameras. There are a few ways of doing this.

Remote PC – By setting up a remote PC at another location with Internet access, you could install IP camera recording software to monitor and record from each IP camera simultaneously. You could do straight 24/7 recording or on motion detection.

IP Camera Hosting Services – Remote Recording services can also be purchased from professional companies that securely record from your IP cameras to a remote secure location. An example of a company that offers these services is Network Webcams.

Outdoor Monitoring

IP surveillance cameras can also be placed outdoors using enclosures. Like indoor cameras, you will want to place them where they can view the entire monitoring area and have access to power and ethernet if required. Outdoor lighting will also be an issue as the camera will require proper lighting. Only certain outdoor IP surveillance cameras support infrared (IR) as most infrared IP cameras will reflect off the glass of the enclosure and give a white image. If infrared is required, purchase an outdoor infrared IP camera that comes with the enclosure attached as this will give the best image considering the enclosure is built for infrared. Another option is to use external IR illuminators which attach to the outside of the enclosure.

Using an IP camera to monitor your home will give you many benefits and the peace of mind knowing your home and belongings are safe.

CCTV Cameras come in a variety of shapes and sizes. There are several factors that determine the correct camera at a given location and for specific applications. One size does not fit all in security cameras, and the proper design takes into effect lighting conditions, location, and the view, or views required. Place a standard color camera in a low-light condition and you will find a poor video, “grainey and noisey” as the camera struggles to see.

Video security cameras are either standard color cameras, Day/Night cameras, or in infrared cameras. . They also come in fixed, meaning they view one specific location, or Pan-Tilt-Zoom cameras that allow the operator to move the camera in a 360° area and optically zoom in on specific locations. A standard retail environment will have both indoor and outdoor cameras, fixed and PTZ, with exterior and interior doors entrys and exits covered.

It’s A Resolution

Analog cameras are measure in the number of “TV Lines” meaning the horizontal lines that make up the camera video on the screen. The more the better. Typical cameras 5 years ago measured 380-420 TVL as the typical resolution. Today, 540 TVL is a standard resolution for analog CCTV Cameras. IP Megapixel cameras are breaking this barrier with horizontal lines measure in “Megapixels.” A 3.1 megapixel camera has over 2000 lines! The price is the determining factor (surprise) as IP Megapixels are today, MegaBucks!

So, if you have a big budget, spring for a few Megapixel Cameras, for all of the other cameras focus on 540TVL and above resolution CCTV analog cameras.

Day/Night Modes

An important factor in cameras is the lighting at night. Are there parking lights? Is it pitch dark? If there is limited lighting, a Day/Night camera is your choice. Its color during good lighting, and switches to B/W for low-light views. The key technical spec on lighting is the LUX rating. The lower the better! Standard color indoor dome camera may have a LUX of 0.1 and a Day/Night will have a .001 or better. Go read/search for details.

Infrared Cameras

Infrared (IR Cameras) are all the rage in camera introductions. 2nd only to IP Megapixel cameras. Having the ability to see both day and night, IR Cameras have IR LEDs that are beyond what the human eye can see, but the camera picks up the IR light flashes the constant Flashlight allowing you to see in total darkness.

PTZ Cameras

Got to have one! A fixed camera is like having a one-eyed guard stand watch. He never blinks, never stops watching. A PTZ robotic camera is like having the same guard but he can move around and has a set of binoculars to get close-up shots.

There is a difference in a $50 camera and a good quality $250 camera in many cases. IP megapixel cameras at $800 or so, will be a distant memory hopefully soon as volumes increase. Whether its an economical or professional purchase, choose the right camera for your application.

Gas stations are popular sites for criminal activity, most traditionally theft. Gas station owners who do not currently have a surveillance system in place are placing their business, their customers and their employees at risk. Surveillance systems when installed can dramatically reduce all types of criminal activity within your gas station. With the advancements in IP network cameras, installing a state of the art surveillance system in your gas station is simple and affordable.

Why Should You Install IP Camera Surveillance Systems?

If you are considering the installation of a surveillance system within your gas station, consider the following advantages that this decision will offer to your business:

Theft Prevention- By installing visible IP cameras within your gas station, you will reduce petty theft from both employees and criminals targeting your business.

Criminal Apprehension- Recorded surveillance from your gas station can often assist law enforcement in the apprehension of the criminals. You will want to make sure video from the security cameras are recorded allowing for later viewing.

Why Should I Choose the IP Camera System over Other Surveillance Systems?

If you are ready to install a surveillance system within your gas station, you are likely evaluating available package options. One of the most popular surveillance systems to select for gas stations is the IP camera system. Some of its features and benefits are listed below:

- IP cameras offer the ability to review recorded and live data over the Internet, from anywhere in the world. This allows the business owner to manage their business remotely by viewing recorded and live video from any PC attached to the Internet.

- These camera systems offer the ability to pass recorded information from the IP cameras over the Internet to a designated PC for storage.

- Control features are accessible over the Internet, allowing someone remotely control their IP camera surveillance system. This includes panning, tilting and zooming the camera.

- This system’s wireless functionality and installation makes it affordable for gas stations to implement.

- These cameras offer intelligent surveillance allowing them to record or notify you only when motion is detected. They also easily integrate into existing security alarms and notifications.

Installing the IP Camera System within Your Gas Station

Once you have selected the IP camera surveillance system, you will need to select the best locations for installation of the individual cameras.

Consider these locations when designing your gas station surveillance plan:

- Cameras should be placed near all of your gas pumps to capture car license plates and individuals walking onto the premises

- Consider using dome cameras outdoors to capture a more comprehensive view of the gas pumps and protect the cameras from vandals and the elements of weather

- Mount cameras throughout the convenience portion of your gas station, particularly focusing on the cash register. Also place cameras throughout your store to capture petty thieves who may be stealing items from your gas station.

Setting up an internet camera is actually a surprisingly simple process. These IP-based cameras are video cameras that connect directly to an IP network. And through any computer with internet access, the camera can be controlled and monitored. Because of its flexibility, this is a great way for someone who wants to customize their surveillance options.

If you ever wondered why you’re children are always bruised when left with the nanny, now you can watch your kids get beaten to a pulp while you’re sitting at a cubicle twiddling your thumb. To start, determine if you want a wireless or a wired camera. This is actually an obvious choice for some because wireless just sounds so much cooler. Remember that a wireless security camera still might need to be plugged into the wall socket if that is the cameras power source.

The wired camera requires an Ethernet cable to run from the camera or the receiver unit if separate to your router or computer depending on your set up. A wireless just requires a receiver plugged into your computer and will transmit the video feed from the camera to the computer. I hope you buy units that are built into the camera so your line of communication, regardless of wire or wireless, is camera to computer/router and nothing in-between.

While it may not be so pertinent to mention today in most homes, I’ll do include this for the technological caves some people still live in- ahem, my parents. To sufficiently transfer video surveillance, make sure you network speeds are at least 56mbps and if you’re connecting multiple cameras you may need up to up your network load capabilities. You can talk to your internet provider about your network capabilities although I must note that standard DSL should cut it.

Once you have everything ready setup is pretty standard. If it’s a wired camera you just need to keep in mind what your limitations are with the Ethernet cable. For both wired and wireless, figure out where you want to mount it and how it is going to be powered. Plug the power cable into the wall; plug in the Ethernet cable to your computer; and install the software that came with your camera.

It’ll walk you through a few steps basically just click yes a bunch of times. Once this is complete, unplug the Ethernet cable if you have a wireless and mount the camera where you want as long as it is within range of your wireless router and has access to a power source. This especially is the case if you’re using this as an outdoor security camera where power sockets are less available.

Information and knowledge should not be an obstacle to your security system design creativity. Outdoor Security Camera Guide is a website designed to be your inspirational guide to setting up the most effective, highest quality outdoor network security cameras to best fit your needs.

A wireless IP camera system uses technology to communicate live video through the internet. It uses your camera that is recording in real time to deliver a signal over the internet to your email so that you can see what is occurring wherever the camera is. This is camera surveillance at its best and at its simplest. Wireless IP cameras are digital cameras that come with a web server built in and can be used indoors or outdoors, daytime or night time, for personal or business use.

As the owner all you are required to do is to plug the camera into an internet connection and live video is then visible to anybody who uses the IP address of the camera. This makes camera surveillance not only reasonable but easy. You will not incur the cost of paying someone to permanently watch a monitor screen instead the wireless IP camera allows you to record and view your home or business with the click of the mouse from any location in the world as long as you have an internet connection.

The connection for the wireless IP camera can be connected online with the use of any wireless router, dependent upon your signal the camera can sit any distance, and it is a lot more difficult for an intruder to destroy any cables that would be present during a traditional camera surveillance system. The Wireless system is an excellent choice when choosing camera surveillance. It has all the makings of traditional camera surveillance such as full tilt, pan and zoom operation that is remotely controllable; IR heat detection, can work with alarm systems, and motion detectors. The Wireless IP camera system can be used in areas where there is an electrical connection, but is not closely or conveniently located near an internet connection.

When you think of video surveillance you probably think of expensive but the wireless IP system is inexpensive because of the simplicity connected with its use. You have the option of using battery cameras as they can even dispense with the electrical connection. You can use more than one camera just like you can with traditional camera surveillance systems. Using more than one camera adds extra protection so even if an intruder finds and possibly disables one camera the second camera would record this and send out an alarm.

In simple terms wireless IP camera is a form of security surveillance that allows you to check out the security of your home or business online from wherever you so choose anywhere in the world as long as you have a internet connection. The wireless IP camera allows cameras to be situated in places that were once not possible for traditional security surveillance systems that need a hard connection from camera to monitor, and a long range can be achieved from wireless IP camera to IP connection and also from receiver to computer.

IP Network Cameras are designed to work in a Local Area Network (LAN) and over the Internet. Within a LAN, IP Network Cameras allow for motoring local to the computer network to which the cameras are attached to. With additional configuration of your computer network you have the ability to allow for your IP Network Camera to be monitored not only locally but remotely as well using the Internet. For advice on how to configure your network to allow for your camera to work over the Internet please follow this guide.

Configuration – Local Access

Before you are able to configure your camera to work over the Internet we suggest configuring the camera for local access first. Please refer to the technical documentation that came with your camera for properinstructions on initial configuration of your camera. Once the camera has been configured for local access you are then ready to start configuration for remote access to the camera over the Internet.

Configuration – Remote Access

Before you proceed to configure your local network to allow your camera to be monitored from a remote location, we suggest that you contact your network administrator to ensure you have the proper authority to configure remote access to the camera. Once you have consulted with your network administrator you may proceed to configure remote access to the camera.

In order to configure your camera to work over the Internet you will need to configure what is called Port Forwarding. Port Forwarding allows for you to access the camera from a remote location by forwarding the network ports used by the camera onto the Internet. These ports are usually forwarded by accessing your network’s router and configuring the router to forward the ports used by the camera. For details as to what ports will be required for forwarding for your IP Network Camera, please consult the manufacturer of your camera. For additional information beyond this guide regarding Port Forwarding, please visit http://www.portforward.com where you will be able to find step by step guides on Port Forwarding specific to different models of routers.

Step 1 – Obtain IP Address Information

In order to access your network’s router for configuration of port forwarding you will require the IP Address of the router to which the camera is connected to. You can obtain this IP Address information by consulting with the network administrator of your network or by opening up a Command Prompt within Windows and entering in the “ipconfig /all” command. To open a command prompt window you will need to click on the Window’s Start button and then proceed to click on Run. Now you will enter in “cmd” and click on “Ok” to proceed.

Once you have displayed the IP Configuration for your computer using the “ipconfig /all” command, you will then be able to record the IP Address for your router. You will need this IP Address in order to access your router for configuring Port Forwarding. Your network router’s IP Address will be displayed as the Default Gateway.

Step 2 – Accessing your Network’s Router

Now that you have obtained the IP Address for your network’s router you will then need to proceed to access your router by typing in the router’s IP Address in a web browser.

Step 3 – Configuring Port Forwarding on your Router

Now that you have access to the network router you will then need to proceed to browse to the configuration section on the router where port forwarding is to take place. Please consult with the manufacturer of your router for details as to where this section is. You may also review the website NetworkCameraReviews.com where you will find detailed forum posts on port forwarding with various routers.

The Private IP Address for the camera (local IP Address of camera) has been entered in as well as a unique name that will be associated with this particular port that is to be forwarded. In this example port 80 will be forwarded for the camera. Please consult with the manufacturer of your camera for details on what port(s) will be forwarded. Some IP Network Cameras require more then one port to be forwarded in order for you to obtain all the features the camera has to offer. You will also be presented with an option to select a Protocol to be to be used. Common options found are UDP, TCP or Both. Your router may have additional options. In most cases you will need to select the protocol option “Both”. This will associate both UDP and TCP protocols to the port(s) being forwarded. In this example we with click on the Apply button once all required information has been entered.

After the settings have been saved within the router’s configuration you should be able to see this information displayed in a list. There may be other entries in this list already by default.

Step 4 – Accessing your IP Network Camera over the Internet

Now that you have configured port forwarding on your network’s router to allow the camera to be accessed over the Internet, you are now ready to attempt to access the camera. We suggest attempting to access the camera from a remote location and not within the local network for confirmation that port forwarding was configured properly. At a remote location you will need to type in the Public IP Address that is provided by you Internet Service Provider (ISP) in order for you to be able to access your camera. Please contact your ISP if you are not sure what your Public IP Address is. You will not be able to access the camera by it’s Private IP Address (Example: 192.168.0.100) because the camera’s Private IP Address cannot be seen on the Internet and can only be seen within the local network to which the camera is attached to.

In most applications port 80 will be forwarded and because of this no port information will be required in the Address Bar when attempting to access the camera. However, there are cases where an IP Network Camera will not use port 80. These cases are usually related to security concerns with using port 80. We suggest contacting your network administrator or the manufacturer of you router to inquire upon the possible security concerns with forwarding port 80. If port 80 is not the port being used you will be required to enter in the full IP Address followed by a colon and the port number used.

You should now be able to fully access your IP Network Camera from a remote location using the Internet. If you require any additional support for configuring your camera for remote access, we strongly suggest that you contact the manufacturer of your camera, the manufacturer of your network’s router or review the detailed guides found on NetworkCameraReviews.com

One of the best things about IP security cameras is that you can monitor your camera from any computer that has internet access. This is great for anybody who travels often and wants to check in on his or her house and make sure that it is safe. Monitoring your IP camera, or cameras, this way is the most basic way to do so. It allows you to see what is going on in your home or business, but it does not allow you to change camera angles or use features like motion detection or any sort of alarm or notification.

IP security camera software is perfect for anybody who wants to use more features with their cameras, or anybody with several IP cameras set up. It is also a good idea for people who use IP cameras for their business to use software so it can be easier to manage the cameras in your system.

Software designed to manage IP security cameras can be expensive, but they are incredibly useful and can be a good investment in your home or business security. The software usually costs anywhere from $100 to $1200. If the software available does not work with your budget, you can probably find some affordable software on online auction sites. Also, a lot of IP security cameras come with their own software, so if you are not buying software for cameras that you already own, it is a good idea to look at IP cameras that come with software.

Since IP camera software can be expensive and it is a big investment into your security system and your home or business’ security, you have to make sure that you buy dependable software that will do its job well and give you all the features you need. In order to make sure the software you are interested in is dependable, you should look up reviews for the product. It is a good idea to look up professional and customer reviews because they can give you a good idea on how the software works.

Professional reviews can go through the specifications and name the pros and cons of a specific product. Customer reviews can give you a good idea on how the software works in day-to-day use and if it does everything it is supposed to do correctly. You should also make sure the software can do everything that the product description claims it can do.

With technological advances on the way, new issues face video surveillance in 2010. Public surveillance will become a more involved aspect of modern life. While many are concerned about civil liberties, the net effect will be beneficial for the protection of property rights.

While the recent economic crisis might have slowed industrial production, it has not stopped the flow of innovations that will shape the debate about video surveillance in 2010. Credit markets remain chilly, and foreclosed homes lie vacant in suburban ghost towns. Despite these remarkable obstacles, bright minds continue to dream up new ways to use CCTV technology. New technologies allow for ideal video and picture quality. It is easier to store and transmit recorded data than ever before. Network video recorders allow live streaming of surveillance feeds from an IP camera.

The most modest innovations tend to improve the quality and cost of the use of CCTV technology. On the short term, this means better quality data. For those who run a business, this can make it affordable to keep an eye on assets. Better video data will allow business to pursue justice in a court with clear evidence.

There is also impetus to move video surveillance in some unique directions. There is a motivation among providers to offer surveillance systems that are intelligent. These systems will begin to automatically monitor more and more information. For example, there is aggressive research into the idea of creating a gait DNA profile for individuals pictured in a video feed. This type of behavior analysis could be used to flag certain suspicious characters for closer review. When surveillance data is intelligently processed, it becomes much easier to notice specific events that justify intense examination. It is this intelligence that will truly shape the future of CCTV technology. Better data processing will reduce labor costs for businesses.

The Civil Liberties Debate

Video surveillance has spawned unique legal considerations. For private use, there is no question about civil liberties. The right to free speech and expression would guarantee your right to record and use visual data that occurs on private property. The data itself helps protect the property rights of the individual in this case. While some people might find aggressive video surveillance techniques disquieting, they have the right to avoid private property that includes this technology. Where it pertains to use on private grounds, it should be clear to all that video surveillance works to improve the protection of civil liberties.

In the public sphere, this is a more complicated issue. Serious debate has emerged over the use of video surveillance technology by governments. For example, this CBS News article details a contentious application of red light cameras by the city government of Chicago. Many motorists are concerned that such cameras do not properly determine the driver of the vehicle. However, video technology is not responsible for the way that it is applied. The courts still exist to check the application of these new innovations. As long as proper checks exist, new developments in public surveillance should be welcomed. If there is no reasonable expectation of privacy, then one should not carry out activities that would be inappropriate to review on video.

Criminal use of surveillance equipment can have consequences as well. As video equipment becomes smarter and smaller, it is possible for governments and private individuals to violate the property rights of others. Video feeds might detail private activity on grounds that are not under the lawful purview of the person doing the recording. While these concerns should not influence the development of technology, they will inspire ongoing debate about the best way to protect property rights in an increasingly advanced society.

The Changing Market for Surveillance Equipment

Complex monetary conditions have resulted in one of the more disturbing economic periods in modern history. The housing bubble burst suddenly. This caused deflationary conditions as banks took critical hits to their balance sheets. The credit markets froze, and businesses cut back spending. This reduced business spending resulted in rising unemployment. The unemployment resulted in reduced consumer spending. As a reaction, governments all over the world began to print money and spend.

While this article from IP Video Market Info details industry-wide recession losses for surveillance providers, these unique conditions allow for long-term growth in the market. Innovation is the key to realizing this. Businesses now want a lean cost model. New technologies can allow business to reduce labor costs and protect against damages. As unemployment rises, so will crime rates. This will encourage the private use of surveillance equipment to defend against theft and vandalism. Increased government spending will motivate public security funding. Smarter surveillance technology could provide a better public security with more respect for civil liberties. These technologies will be awarded with healthy government contracts in an age of worldwide stimulus spending.

In times of economic strife, market corrections must occur. At the onset of a crisis, this would mean that all businesses have to change their models. However, after this initial hit, the security industry should expect relative growth during poor economic conditions. Security is more important when the economy is unstable.

In Conclusion

Modern circumstances might represent a paradigm shift in the progression of the video surveillance industry. CCTV technology will become smarter and sharper. Wireless technology will allow us to do much more with remote viewing.

As these technologies grow, new legal precedent will be created to address the possible concerns that relate to civil liberties. Modern consumers want to freely express themselves while protecting certain pieces of information. The courts will find even footing on this precarious ledge in due time.

While the global economic crisis might represent a changing tide for specific video surveillance companies, it is beneficial for the industry on the balance. Complex economic times call for increased security spending. 2010 will be an exciting year for the future of video surveillance.
